At Aranow Packaging Machinery, we offer advanced packaging solutions designed to meet the specific needs of viscous liquid products.
Our machinery is prepared to package a wide range of products in complete lines for primary and secondary packaging as well as special stickpack or sachet equipment, providing precision, efficiency and quality.
Below, we present our solutions for different categories of viscous products such as:
Antacids, such as magnesium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide or sodium alginate, present in well-known commercial brands such as Gaviscon, Omeprazol, Maalox, Rolaids, Mylanta, Tums, Galaver or TopCare antiacid, require packaging that guarantees product stability and ease of use for consumers.
These products are suitable for packaging in Aranow machinery as they require precise dosage, optimum product protection or convenience of consumption through packaging such as stickpacks.
Liquid laxative products such as lactulose, present in brands such as Dulphalac, Casenlax, Normolax and Dulcolax, present a high viscosity, as well as contamination risks during the packaging process as with any liquid product.
These product properties must be added to the stability and reactivity required for lactulose, a product sensitive to environmental conditions such as temperature and light, which can affect its stability.
Aranow’s machinery provides the rigorous and adequate control during the packaging process to maintain its efficiency and the sterility and cleanliness conditions to avoid contaminants.
Anesthetic gels containing drugs such as lidocaine, prilocaine or benzocaine, present in brands such as Xylocaine and Orajel, require specialized packaging to preserve their integrity and efficacy.
In this case we are talking about products that, apart from having a high viscosity, have a significant level of adhesiveness, being sticky and easily adhered to the surfaces of the packaging equipment.
These types of drugs also require accurate dosing to ensure that the gel is effective.
Such product attributes require equipment with advanced techniques such as Aranow’s packaging machinery to measure and dose precise quantities or facilitate cleaning of the equipment.
Aranow Packaging Machinery’s machinery solution for packaging viscous liquid products in stickpack or flat is the ideal choice for companies looking to improve efficiency, ensure product quality and meet the needs of their consumers.
With advanced technology, a commitment to quality, Aranow is the perfect partner to take the packaging of your liquid products to the next level.
Learn in depth about a case study of a machine for the Pharmaceutical Industry for viscous liquid: below we describe 6 key points of Aranow solutions for packaging this type of products in stickpack.
Accuracy and consistency of the amount of product in the sachet is essential. Avoiding the risk of overdosing or underdosing using Aranow dosing systems for liquids is essential, although there are several ways to do this. One of them is flowmeter dosing for less viscous products or piston dosing for more viscous products. In this case we opt for individual piston pumps with sealless ceramic coatings to increase the wear resistance of the pumps themselves. Ideal for pharmaceutical, medical, cosmetic and other applications where high cleaning and sterilization capacity is required. This type of RP pump is capable of handling low to high viscosity fluids with or without particles and is easy to disassemble, clean and maintain. It is FDA 3A compliant and full CIP compatible.
The integration and configuration of the complete CIP was essential when working with viscous liquids.
That is why Aranow's machinery includes different valves allowing the Clean In Place process . This allows a correct draining of the product, the emptying of pipes, hopper and the priming with cleaning solution of the manifold and nozzles.
Three main valves are included for this purpose:
The customer can control the actuation of the valves by defining the actuation times on the main screen of the machine according to his protocols, being able to create with the action of the valves, different cleaning circuits.
With a total production of up to 1000 stickpacks per minute (10 tracks per machine working at 50 cycles per minute) x 2 machines providing a clear reduction in operating costs.
The machine's ability to hermetically seal the containers is crucial to protect the active ingredients from moisture, light and other contaminants. In this case, the individual piston pumps mentioned above have a set of nozzles adapted to the properties of the product with a sealing system that prevents product droplets from contaminating the sealing area of the sachet. However, if we have to highlight one quality of the proposed solution , it would be the cooling system to cool the sealing areas of the stickpack before the special cut, guaranteeing a correct sealing of the envelope .
To adapt to a customized flexible packaging solution, in this case, we opted for a Shaped stickpack solution in the shape of a bottle (Bottle-shape) with a special former integrated in the equipment that allows a forming process which enables to place the vertical seal on the edge of the stickpack facilitating its opening at the moment of consumption. This system, together with the integrated die for specially shaped sticks , results in a unique bottle-shape envelope with rounded corners.
